"The Last Day On Earth" is an interesting choice. I still remember when it was propelled into previously inconceivable levels of success; it didn't seem like anyone was expecting it. I'd imagine Kate didn't either, when she wrote it to be a 5 minute long song with plenty of slow interludes. So perhaps stripping it to half its length and performing it on X Factor sounds like a swell idea, right? In theory yes, but her vocal performance gets a bit shaky and starts to detract from it for me.
