Fifth-Harmony-Mitglied Camila Cabello will sich in ihrer Karriere breiter aufstellen und nimmt hier solo einen Titel mit einem US-amerikanischen Rapper auf. Rapper und Pop-Sternchen, das lässt auch songstrukturell schon auf etwas schließen - wird aber nur teilweise erfüllt: Cabello bekommt doch deutlich mehr Aufgaben, als lediglich 2-3 Mal kurz den Refrain runterzusingen. Wirklich überzeugend und interessant finde ich diese Kollaboration leider dennoch nicht, beide Akteure entsprechen auch zu sehr bekannten Klischees.

I've never been a fan of either artist, but this is just so incredibly dull and uncreative.

I mean, wow, that whole "good-girl-falling-in-love-with-a-bad-boy" thing has never been done before!

I guess they have put their own spin on it in a way I suppose, as these sorts of songs have never made me want to fall asleep in the way that this song does.

Nach dem Duett mit Shawn Mendes versucht sich Camila Cabello nun mit dem nächsten Duett zusammen mit Machine Gun Kelly. Und ich finde sie hat sich gesteigert, auch wenn der Song hier auch von Machine Gun Kelly abhängt aber im grossen und ganzen viel besser als "I Know What You Did Last Summer"

Also um mal auszudeutschen, was Irelander gesagt hat: das ist natürlich ein Cover des Fastball-Songs "Out Of My Head" von 1998, wobei auch hier das Original viel mehr Biss hat. Nett, knapp keine 4.

Zwei Sternchern sind für diese Profillosigkeit ausreichend.

Die Stimme der Dame ist zwar nicht schlecht, aber es ist trotzdem profilloser Einheitsbrei.

Ich mag ihre Stimme, ihren Part auch, aber der Rap versaut's mir.

Mit der Kombination Rap + gesungene Hook hat man derzeit gute Chancen in den Charts, G-Eazy hats mit seinem Hit "Me, Myself & I" auch hierzulande vorgemacht.
"Bad Things" war bei uns trotz der radiotauglichen Machart erstaunlich wenig Erfolg beschieden, in den USA kam der Track aber bis auf #4.
Mir gefällt die Mischung aus den langen Vocal-Passagen und dem eher trappigen Rest ganz gut, besser als der Eazy-Hit.

Ein eher erfreulicher Chartsvertreter, der hier zu schlecht wegkommt.

Leuke samenwerking tussen Machine Gun Kelly en Camila Cabello. De vier sterren staan.

This is such an easy target for mockery. For starters, it has the mediocre white rapper box ticked and the hip-hop song with female pop singer in the chorus box ticked. It doesn't help that Camila is generally considered the worst singer in Fifth Harmony. It's titled "Bad Things" to add to that growing list. I suppose you could say that I'm out of my head and out of my mind when I say that I enjoy this.

I do find the concept of 'bad things' in this song is a bit cringeworthy. While Camila's voice does have that young and innocent feel to it which almost justifies the lyrical content, I can't look past the fact that the stuff described in this song is pretty tame. If what's described in this song is considered bad things then wow. It might get them really excited sexually but it's hardly naughty enough that it deserves mentioning. I'd really like for it to go into some really interesting detail, but then I guess it wouldn't be so radio friendly. Speaking of which, I did get amusement that my mum got so sick of this song being played on radio that she'd race to turn the volume down whenever it come on :')

I suppose it is catchy enough though, and I do get enough amusement from the above that I don't feel too embarrassed to proclaim that it's one of the biggest guilty pleasures for me in the last six months. I guess this is the kinda bad thing I like? :P Must admit I'm very surprised it didn't end up becoming a top 10 hit in Australia.
